WHAT IS A HOUSE GROUP FELLOWSHIP?
It’s a group of adults (and children) who commit to regularly meet together for Worship, Bible Study, Prayer, and Service in a home setting either Physically or Virtually-Online and, as needs arises, meeting and serving together throughout the week in order to equip and disciple members and train and Sharpen one another in the Word of God.
The Purpose of House Group From House to House…
Parklands Baptist Church, House Group Ministry exists to glorify God, exalting Him through the teaching of His Word, so that everyone may know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.
PURPOSE:
The House Group Fellowships provide an opportunity to grow spiritually through Bible Study, Prayer, Worship, Fellowship, Encouragement, and Accountability; to develop Christian friendships through interaction, prayer and activities; and to demonstrate Christian love through instructing, admonishing, and serving one another in the group, and as opportunity arises, those in our church and our communities.
BIBLICAL FOUNDATION:
Acts 2:46 “Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from
house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart.”
Acts 5:42 “And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.”
Acts 20:20 “How I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house.”
1 Cor. 14:26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation.
Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. HOUSE GROUP DETAILS:
House Group members are committed together to:
- Praise: In spirit and truth, singing praises to God
- Nurture: Bible Study, Prayer, Scripture memorization
- Community: Fellowship spiritually and materially, affirm and encourage, exhort and admonish, testify and share, fellowship with other House groups, meet individually and as a group outside regular meeting times, as reaching out to needs with the community(s).
- Missions: The great commission of Service and discipleship 28:19. House Group Levels:
- Region Level
- Zone Level
- House Groups Level House Group Meetings:
- The House group meet once per week. Different groups meet different days of the week from Monday-Sunday.
- The session take One and a half to two hours .

LONG-RANGE OBJECTIVES:
- To provide House fellowship(s) for each and every member of Parklands Baptist Church within the City and in Diaspora.
- To train and equip House Group leaders through training seminars/classes, mentorship with a reading program so that each will effectively lead a House Group.
- To develop maturing disciples through the House Group meetings, fellowships, and service opportunities, so that each one is glorifying God, knowing Christ and being conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit, growing spiritually, developing Christian knowledge on their area of calling or gifting, and demonstrating Christian love from a pure heart, good conscience, and sincere faith.
- Through this avenue of fellowship a leader is able to recognize a gifting or talent in a member, and thus the said member is encouraged either to pursue it further and some are ordained for higher ministry services in Church.
- To provide opportunities for Home owners to open their houses for hosting every week.
- To encourage Scripture memorization by all participants of Home Fellowships so that each one will memorize several verses a year.
